I don't know why it took me so long to find these guys. But this is a seriously great opportunity for advertising on the internet. Google & Yahoo are so crowded and expensive it's hard to get in but this looks to have some space to maneuver. With AdBrite you can pick from many sites (including huge sites like friendster.com and nhl.com) to place your ads on. I just put one of my ads up on the site http://www.overheardinnewyork.com for example - which is a smaller site and was quite cheap (a very funny site by the way, and it's actually how i found adbrite was by browsing that site.)

Again, this looks to be a huge opportunity, I suggest you check it out if you are looking for serious traffic. I'm going to be testing it a lot over the next week and I'll be sure to be posting my results.

To do PPC (pay per click) advertising you'll need an account with Google Adwords

And an account with Yahoo would be good as well.

Google is the main tool to use - it's faster (your ads can be up within 30 minutes) and cheaper (min. of 5 cents vs yahoo's 10 cents) ... but Yahoo can come in handy for somethings (i've found that www.penis3.com for example, works much better with it than anything else, for some reason)

There are many other pay per click search engines out there... but most of them are suspect... there are none that i've had enough success with to really say anyone should use. I'd say just so you don't have sensory overload - just concentrate on those 2 to get started, especially Google. Google only costs 5 dollars to open an account, Yahoo costs 30 dollars. Google lets you pay after... and Yahoo you have to pay before... be careful with Google though - make sure you set your ads cheap at first (5 cents) to see if you can get any traffic... if the thing converts at a high rate and you can afford to pay more than up it... also make sure you set good budget limits... i've been screwed a couple of times by a ton of sudden clicks (that were worthless) ... anyway the budget limits are good.

There are many other ways to advertise but PPC is really the biggest way... and the easiest to get started with I think.

So these are the ways you will advertise ... you then need actual things to advertise... what you are looking for are things that when people click on the ads - they buy the item and that the item has a high enough commission to make it worth your while.

Here are some things that I advertise

penis enlargement pills i've run into a recent slump with this... but the commissions are really really high and i've made a lot of money from it. yahoo has given me my biggest success. when you sign up with them - you will get your own links that you will use - . anyways you'll put your own special affiliate link into your ads... keywords you'll want to bid on are "penis enlargement" and the like.. anything you think of.. misspellings.. anything related. if you are going to start off trying just one thing i'd go with this.

VMC satellite - i haven't had success with this... but for each installation you sell you get 50$ - it _seems_ like it should be successful - so i still haven't given up on it yet. this is actually something that i think might do well with like newspaper classified ads... but then one would have to buy a better domain... anyways with this there may be too much competition... but hell if you know someone that needs a satellite dish installed or something you could send it to them as well.

this is another site with penis enlargement biz - i've made some sales with them but they don't seem to work as well as the other. with this site again you'd go for "penis enlargement" and stuff but you'd also go for the brand names (and in general always do this for anything you advertise on PPC.) for example on this one the product name is "extenze" so you should put that as a keyword. You can see that a lot of these sites have other things to sell besides the penis enlargement stuff - i havent had much success with those things.. but who knows maybe they can sell too. lots of trial & error in this business.

here are some other programs to check out - online casinos are huge right now. you just have to find the best ways to advertise these sites as it's difficult on google & yahoo as they do not allow any PPC ads from poker sites.

Are there any internet jobs out there?

I don't believe there to be much in the way of "jobs" but there are plenty in the way of money making opportunities.

As I've mentioned previously - Affiliate Marketing is the quickest & easiest way of making money on the internet. Affiliate Marketing is the real deal. I know because it's been my major source of income for some time now (I no longer have the need for a "real job".)

Affiliate Programs can be used in conjunction with a content based website ( which you can build through
Site Build It! ) or you can advertise programs in other ways, specifically with PPC engines. PPC is "Pay Per Click"

Google AdWords is the most well known PPC program and the easiest to use. Google gets the most traffic of any search engine on the internet (by far) so AdWords is also the most important PPC opportunity. Besides Google & Yahoo be careful using others as I've found many of them to be complete scams and not worth your time or money. For instance Brainfox. Never ever use Brainfox - all of their traffic is junk.

Now to some specific Affiliate Programs. The following are programs which I do use myself to make profits.

Empire Poker - Big Payouts (starting at $65 for a signup) in a very popular industry. Difficult to advertise with PPC due to rules against advertising gambling but if you can find ways to advertise this (legally) you could make quite a fortune.

Party Poker - The most popular poker site in the world. $90 payouts.

Poker Room - offers both pay per signups & a revenue sharing program. My personal favorite site.

Vimax Penis Enlargement - I know. I know. But there is big big money to be made by advertising this site. Big money. Try it. The conversions are very high and the payouts are outrageous (up to $200 for a sale)

There are some programs to get you started. If you advertise those programs well you could make a good living just from them. I know, because I do. (well it's not all I do, because I'm greedy but the point is made.)

I've posted about Site Build It! before but it's such a great tool for anyone looking to get serious about building a money making website that I felt it deserved another post. SBI provides everything you need to track all of the areas of progress. SBI helps you in regards to Search Engine Optimization and in tracking how well all of your pages are doing with the search engines. Basically SBI puts all of these disparate things that would, by doing them one by one, take enormous amounts of time & energy, and puts them all together into one package. They really simplify the whole process.

AdSense was introduced by Google in the summer of 2003 as a new advertising model. Advertisers pay per click just as they do with regular Pay Per Click advertising while the publishers in this case are usually website owners (an exception being GMail) this could range from YOUR content rich website all the way up to major websites such as answers.com which displays "sponsored ads" on the right of it's webpages. For example search for "monkey" on answers.com and you will see sponsored ads on the right relating to monkeys.

One of the major ways Google places content ads is by putting them to the right of email messages in GMail. If you use GMail you may have noticed these ads which relate to whatever it is you were talking about in your emails. These ads are a part of AdSense.

AdSense delivers ads based on the content of the page & site which it is on. For example if a webpage is all about cookies then there would be AdSense ads delivered having something to do with cookies. If a page does not have any content which lends itself to paid ads (no one has paid for any content ads for the keywords on the page) then Google will place public service announcements in place of the ads. This very rarely happens so it's nothing to be too concerned about but it is important to know that not all AdSense ads are created equally.

When an advertiser uses AdWords PayPerClick advertising he is given the choice of adding a content (AdSense) campaign or not. Advertisers bid just as they do for the regular PPC search results so some AdSense ads are far more valuable than others. If you become an AdSense Publisher then you will be able to place an AdSense block anywhere on your website. You will have some flexability as far as what the block will look like and how many ads will be shown. Every time someone visiting your website clicks on one of these ads you will be given some share of the PPC rate for that ad (whatever the advertiser has agreed to pay.) If you have a lot of traffic on your site this could really ad up to quite a bit of money. It's also very important what your website is about as the ads placed on your site will be based on the content of your website and some ads pay far more per click than others. Google does not have a tool like Yahoo's view bids tool but generally if a keyword is expensive at Yahoo likewise it will be expensive at Google. You can use Yahoo's view bid tool to check keywords and see what advertisers are paying per click (I think you may be surprised just how much some of the keywords cost per click.) This may give you some ideas if you are thinking about building a content rich website, if there is money to be made in the idea then the keyword bids for that area will be reasonably high.

You are not allowed to click on your own website's ads. Any type of cheating or gaming will be looked into rather quickly by Google. Also Google is now introducing the ability for advertisers to pick & choose the websites which their ads will show on so you do not want to be known for junk visitors. Always go for quality, do not try and cheat the system as it (Google) will catch up to you soon anyways.

Creating EBooks has never been simpler. You can use Adobe products to create your own PDF EBook quite simply without a lot of technical knowledge. You may have noticed that there are EBooks all over the internet. The reason? EBooks can be a great source of income because of the fact that once an EBook is written it's extremely easy to make it available for sale and there are almost no costs. You don't have to ship it. Of course the key to a successful EBook is having something to say, valuable content that people would be willing to pay for. If you feel you do have something to say, some content that would be valuable to others then an EBook may be a very lucrative business model for you.

An EBook is also often preferable to an actual paper book because with an EBook, of course, you can have live links and if an author is writing about items to do with the internet having the ability to make links easily available can make all the difference in the world. With the internet and with a lot of the money making opportunities online it really won't do one too much good to just read about it, you have to get your hands dirty, you have to click around and see what's what.

New Affiliate Opportunity

You've probably seen thousands of ads for penis enlargement pills floating around the internet. Well I've discovered why - I signed up here and have had some pretty stunning results. The conversions have been amazing and the $ per sale is almost as amazing. Search Engine Optimization - part 1

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is essential to gaining a high amount of traffic for your content rich website. It is estimated that 85% of all traffic received comes from the search engines and it's also known that people rarely go past the first page (first 10 listings on Google for example) when doing a search.

Clearly this means that a website must rank highly in the search engines for important keywords (highly searched and relevent to the website) in order to gain high amounts of targeted traffic.

Targeted traffic means web surfers who are interested in items directly related to a website.

Targeted traffic of course is much more valuable than random traffic. For example if you are searching for "bears" and you click on a result and the website is all about cats you would quickly hit the back button and try another search. But if your website is all about bears then that's an example of targeted traffic, surfers who have a high chance of being interested in your website.

To get these targeted websurfers your website must be highly optimized. This means that the content must be rich with the proper amount of keywords and this also means that there must be a high amount of quality incoming links.

Google uses something called PageRank to rank pages based on the amount and quality of their incoming links. For example an incoming link from the yahoo directory will have a strong positive influence on the PageRank of your site while a link from a personal webpage with almost no traffic may have very little, if any, influence.

You can use this tool from the website to check PageRank for any website on the internet. PageRank is from 0 to 10. 10 is extremely rare and saved for sites such as www.google.com, a 7 is considered to be very high and a 5 is considered to be quite good.

Pay Per Click

Pay Per Click(PPC) advertising is a big part of most affiliate marketing today. An example of PPC is when you do a google search and you see the sponsored ads on the right, those ads are all paid for, and every time someone clicks on them, the advertiser has to pay Google for it.

Without a doubt the first program you should try is Google's Adwords - this EBook called "Google Adword Secrets" has many pointers if you are willing to pay for the information, although it may seem crazy to spend so much on an electronic book at first - if it can help you make many times more than the price than that is a bargain. I've bought a few EBooks on these subjects and they've been very valuable in advancing myself to success. EBooks are actually far preferable to hardbacks when dealing with this subject, because of one must really DO to learn this type of thing. It's important to have live links that you can click on immediately and see exactly what the author is writing about.

Besides Google - Overture (Yahoo!) is the other big player. FindWhat and GoClick are two others i've had some success with but beware of Kanoodle, Looksmart, and especially Brainfox which is an absolute waste of money. I've made mistakes with trying the likes of Brainfox, do not make the same.

I've also had some success with UK based Mirago, A good strategy is to find things that are working in America but are too competitive and then go to other country specific search engines and affilliate programs and try to get business that way, because America is usually ahead of the game when it comes to internet marketing.

If you are going to use Pay Per Click advertising - Try and find keywords that no one else is using so that you can bid the lowest possible amount. Trying to outbid others on popular keywords is a losing proposition. You have to make sure you are earning more than you are spending (of course.)

Pay Per Click advertising is the quickest way to make a buck but you can also lose quite a bit on programs that just do not work or on search engines that are a waste of time. So be careful and do research before going forward.

I think it's a good idea to both try and do PPC affiliate marketing and to create a content rich website as described in the previous entry. The content rich website could be a much higher return on investment eventually, but it will also take longer to build and to get results. Moving up the search engine ladder is a tough game and it will take quite awhile before the site you build will be recognized.

When combining strategies you are giving yourself many more options. Not everything will work. The key is to test and see what works using as little money as possible and then move on to the next thing.

Infopreneur - Content Websites

Today's blog is about the growing phenomenon of the Infopreneur.

One of the, if not the, most powerful aspect of the internet is the ability to find information. When you go to Google and search for something - whatever that may be - and find what you are looking for - that is a lovely thing.

An Infopreneur is in the business of giving people what they are looking for. The answers to their questions. An Infopreneur builds a content rich website and then when people search for something in relation to that content they find that website on the search engines - or that's how it goes if the Infopreneur did a good job.

Of course it's a lot harder than that, but we'll get to that in a second, first I want to get to this.

You may be asking - how does one make money from having people come to a website with information on it. Well there's quite a few ways. Let's start with an example of a website about the baseball star Barry Bonds. Let's say you are a big fan of Barry Bonds and you want to create a fansite for him.

If you are able to get your website high in the search results (and that's a big if and depends on how well you build your site and follow the rules set forth by Google and the other major search engines.) then when someone searches for Barry Bonds - your site would come up in the first 10 listings. Once that person is on your site - how do you make money? Well for one you could become an affiliate for a company which sells baseball related items such as this site which sells baseball tickets - and place ads for this program on your website. Every time someone who is at your site buys baseball tickets (or any other tickets for that matter, as this site sells tickets to most every type of event.) you will receive a commission from that sale. Another way to make money from your content site is the Google Adsense program which will place ads related to the content of your page on your site. Every time a visitor to your site clicks on one of the google ads, you will earn a portion of the "cost per click" for that ad. More complicated ways of making money on such a site would be to build your own store from which you can sell items related to the content on your site. You can use dropshippers to ship the items. I will write a blog in the future on dropshippers and of course there will be a section at the website in the future to help clear that up.

OK, so now I hope you can see how building a content rich website could help make you a bit rich yourself. But of course it's not THAT easy either. First of all, if you cannot get your site ranked towards the top for related keywords (and highly searched keywords) then you will not be able to get any traffic. Infopreneurs cannot take the Field Of Dreams "if you build it, they will come" approach. You have to focus on solid content of course, you have to build a website with a lot of information and make it interesting for visitors. But you must also make the necessary steps to make sure your site does well with the search engines. This includes the way you write your site and getting listed in important directories such as DMOZ.

If you are interested in making your own content rich infopreneur website I highly suggest going with Site Build It! as they will show you step by step how to go about this. You do not need to be a computer expert to use Site Build It! They really include everything you need to get going. I use them myself and have been very impressed by their service. I've also used other web hosting services in a more "go it myself" route - sure they were cheaper but they came to nothing. SBI is the support you need in something like this, otherwise it's too easy to get lost and confused and to give up. The Website Is Live

Meanwhile I'd like to talk a bit more about affiliate programs.

If you're like I was before I started with affiliate programs, you have no idea what an affiliate program is, and that's fine - because the learning curve is not steep at all. An affiliate program is something that many many companies are taking advantage of now on the 'net. It's a way for them to get other people to market their wares, basically if you are an affiliate for a company you are like a marketer or salesman for their products. Every customer that you direct to their site and whoom makes a purchase you are able to make a commission from. So you don't have to have a product or even a website to become an internet marketer - you just have to know how to advertise these websites.

The most basic way to advertise is through Pay-Per-Click advertising through a company such as google or overture (yahoo!)

Once you sign up to be an affiliate for a site such as this. you get the links that you will receive to advertise the site so that if someone does buy the program after signing up through your link you will be paid a commission, at this site it's $17.50 per sale of their mp3 downloading software. Remember you don't have to deal with the customers or have a website, you just have to find customers. Once you get this link you can go to the Pay-Per-Click sites and advertise this link.

I've tried many of the Pay-Per-Click advertisers, unfortunatly most of them are not worth much and the ones that are (like Google and Overture) have a lot of competition so it can be hard to get your words listed. But I've also had some success with www.goclick.com and www.findwhat.com - These sites while not being as consistant as google or overture - Do have some good return on investment and are not entirely junk traffic like I've found Kanoodle to be for example (beware.) At a pay per click advertiser you bid on keywords. For example if you were to try and advertise the mp3 download product I linked to above - you may want to bid on the term "mp3 download" - at google, your lowest bid is 5 cents - I usually start out with this low bid in order to see if I can get traffic here first - Google will give you some estimates of your traffic (usually way off, so don't get too excited about these numbers) and your estimated rank for the keyword (if you do a search on Google, notice the right hand bar... the "sponsored" sites, all of those sites are there because they are bidding on whatever keyword you just searched for.) - again this estimated rank is usually a bit off.

It's important to remember not to spend more for a click than you can actually make on average for that click. Different sites have different conversion rates, in fact during my time working with different affiliate programs I've found that many are just complete duds and a waste of time (and money.) The conversion rate is the percentage of visitors which buy the product and thus you earn a commission on. For example with the mp3 downoad product from above, if 1 out of 100 visitors (clicks) buys the product than that would be $17.50 per 100 clicks which would mean you could spend 17 cents per click to about break even. I would never suggest getting that close to the break even point - it's going to take awhile to figure out what your conversion rate really is and the profit margin is too tight. I would find out what that break even point is - and maybe try bidding on half of that. Now you may be put off by this idea of spending money on advertising etc. but this can work, I know, I've done it myself. I know this can seem a bit confusing or overwhelming at first - but my website will have much more detailed _free_ information in the future, if you absolutely cannot wait to get started on trying affiliate marketing and don't mind spending money on an ebook you may want to try this guy's ebook -> affiliate money tree , there's a lot of information in here in regards to affiliate marketing and PPC advertising. He also gives the affiliate programs he uses himself along with the keywords he uses. The only problem you may run into is that there's a _lot_ of competition in bidding on these keywords. For the most part it'll be almost impossible to get listed on Google and you may have to try some of the secondary search engines (be very careful, many of them are awful) - I will have a full section reviewing all of the search engines on my site in the coming weeks.

If you want to get a bit more serious with affiliate marketing, when the price for the keywords for all of the sites you want to market is too high, one answer is to make your own content website. Hello. If you're like me (and that's a big assumption, but I'm betting atleast a few of you are) then you hate working the 9 to 5 day in day out madness of a "regular job." You'd probably be quite interested in knowing that many people have escaped the doldrums of regular job with online work at home opportunities - Including myself. Whether full time (although full time in this sort of business doesn't mean 40 hours a week, once you have everything set up you could work less than ONE hour a week and still make enough to live... or you could get greedy and try to build an empire... it's all up to you... and not to get go off on a tangent here, but that's what makes this so great. You are working for yourself.) or part time.

I'm now making enough money to no longer have to have a "regular job." I'm taking advantage of something called affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is something that's growing on the internet right now - more and more companies from the New York Times to Comcast are using affiliate marketing techniques. Whether you want to sell Candles or Satellite Dishes --- there are opportunities available. What's great about affiliate marketing is you don't have to have a product or deal directly with customers or even have a webpage.
